God Speaks in Our Language

The news these days doesn’t provide much “encouragement”, so I thought I would share a story/video that is encouraging. I love Bible translation because there are so many amazing stories of how the Word of God in the local language transforms people and communities. It’s a privilege to be a part of the global Bible translation movement! This 5 minute video released by Wycliffe gives a glimpse into how Bible translation is impacting language communities in Madagascar. While this takes place far from Thailand, I am so encouraged to hear how we as Wycliffe are partnering with the local church to help get God’s Word translated and into hands of people who are hungry for Jesus! I hope you are encouraged too.

I didn’t make this video, but I’ll send out one of my own in a few days – stay tuned! Thank you for how you all are an encouragement to me in this journey – we read every comment and email even though we cannot reply to them all.

  1. Please know we are praying for you and your family. It was such a blessing to us on our ‘girls” getaway to meet y’all and talk with you. My friend, Deb, knows first hand what you and your family are going through. And I walked with her through it. I don’t know how we would have made it through without knowing the love of God and feeling Jesus walking right by our side. May God comfort and grant you peace through this difficult time.

  2. May the Lord bless you – in each of your own “heart language” as you cry out to him… May he comfort in each of your heart’s language… I know He will draw near in this difficult time. Lifting you up in prayer.

  3. beautiful video. i wouldn’t have watched except to see what you think is cool these days. #givingHonorNDignity that they deserve is what, hopefully, i will elaborate on in the next year.

  4. Hi Chris & Becca,
Wow! What a journey God has set before you. I just read Max Lucado’s “Grace for the Moment” November 4th. Hebrews 12:1. Jesus’ didn’t falter in His final moments on earth.
I pray God will give you the endurance to overcome this challenge.
    With love and prayers,
    Ken

  5. Chris, missing you a lot mate, praying for you and Becca and family all the time. I head to CM in a couple of weeks and am so gutted that we won’t be able to bike or hike together this time. God be with you all, looking forward to seeing you emerge on the other side healed and hearty once again, with God’s grace and power.

  6. I believe I’ve seen you once in 20 years; in the Calvin Fitness Center, of all places! (-: That was two years ago maybe. But. I think of and pray for you and your family daily. On Christ the solid rock we stand. All other ground. is shifting sand. Run the race, my friend! Run it hard. And may the God who raised our Lord on the third day fill you with hope , and bring you comfort and healing.
