Prayers answered – appointments scheduled!

Dear family and friends,

I am living in the shelter of the Most High.  I am abiding in the shadow of the Almighty.  He alone is my refuge, my place of safety.  He is my God and I will trust in Him.

I am relieved and excited to tell you that I have all my appointments scheduled!

  • Tuesday – lymph node biopsy
  • Wednesday – start steroid treatment – this will stop cancer growth!
  • Friday – chemo port put in
  • Monday June 5 – first day of chemo treatment

The echocardiogram today was quick and uneventful – the ultrasound tech wasn’t allowed to tell me in detail how my heart looked, but said something general like “It looks pretty good”.  For a brief moment my mind flashed back to all the miles I’ve done cycling and road running.  “Um, pretty good?”  My pride was hoping for something like “Wow – strong heart!” but I decided not to pursue that and instead began wiping the gel off my chest.  Every medical professional I have met, including the ultrasound tech, has been kind, compassionate and professional.

I realize that I am at the beginning of a long medical journey that will take me to a dozen locations and  have me interact with who knows how many doctors, nurses, staff and techs.  May God give me eyes to see each of them as God’s image bearers, and the margin to shine the love of Christ whenever we meet.

Love,

Chris
