Hi friends,
I need patience. It’s a funny thing to say, because of course we all need patience at different times of the day. I had hoped to write this post at least having all of my appointments scheduled, if not some completed. Our nurse contacted me several times today who is working with multiple doctors and providers to coordinate what appears to be a complicated orchestration of radiology and oncology doctors. She assured me that we are moving forward, so that is good. For those three things I posted about a few days ago, I have one scheduled for tomorrow, the echo cardiogram. I am really hoping that we’ll get the scheduling call sometime tomorrow for the biopsy / chemo port which I now understand needs to be done on the same day.
So we’ve been doing a lot of waiting – whenever the phone rings it’s serious business, sort of like everything stops and someone fumbles for the notepad while I put the call on speaker phone.
In the waiting we are enjoying some of Michigan’s best outdoors. Today my parents and I went to Meijer Gardens (an arboretum type place) for 3 hours. We got a wheelchair for me so I could do some walking and some sitting. I have the physical energy to walk a few miles even, but my right leg’s inguinal lymph node is now swollen to the point that sustained walking for a few minutes usually results in enough pain to cause me to stop. So frequent stops are necessary – and the pain usually disappears in less than a minute. So we were able to enjoy being outdoors together in God’s creation!
This too is a gift from you, Lord.
