23+ years of love
I am so thankful for 23+ years of marriage with Chris, this past week we got to celebrate!
Marriage and relationships are hard work, or healthy marriages and good relationships take hard work. Even with hard work some do not always thrive after many years, so I see 23+ years of a growing relationship as another gift from the Lord. I’m thankful for the Lord’s grace in our marriage, and from Him we can then extend that grace to one another and even further to others.
I have a loving friend that often says, “Grace to you”, especially when an accident happens or something just doesn’t go the way one would prefer. It was and is a good model for me of love, both in relationships and marriage. We all need grace, even after 23+ years, probably even more so.
Chris continues to rev the engines of work, he was attending online conference/meetings last week. Please pray for all of us in this transition. Emalene said with exasperation, “He is in another meeting??” The past year has been overly full with transitions and this (he is in a new leadership role within language software technology and working fully from home) is another, and we are thankful for the good work he has and the health to do it.
We ask for continued prayers for decisions ahead for our family, especially in terms of the impact on our children.
We ask for increased health stability. Over the last 6 weeks at least one of us has been sick. We think we have found the source of Chris’ cough and have started to address it, though he still has significant sinus drainage.
School starts in two weeks, the 25th. Continued prayers for friends to know and be known by.

Happy anniversary and wishing you many more! My common law partner and I just celebrated 23 years of togetherness on July 14!
Praise God for all He has and is doing. Praise Him for kayaks and enough health to enjoy them. I’m praying for the sinus issues and cough to go away. I’m praying for kids as they go back to school – that God will bring sweet and deep connections with other kids.

How much more has He given you, us, everyone who has been redeemed? We learn of love because He first loved us. Isn’t it wonderful that despite the challenges of this world, despite the sin that threatens to undo us every moment of every day, we are victors because of His love. Ours were 10,12,14 when we returned to stay, and it was tough — even more than we realized. Made me wish I was a trained counselor like you, Becca! More grace!!
i feel ya, esp on the everyday need for grace, in marriage, work, health and school concerns. Jubi also starts at her new school Baylor on Aug 25- i pray for our Momma’s hearts, that we can release them with confidence in both God and our children, and that we can use our time without them well.
