And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. – 2 Cor 3:18
God’s glory was on display the other morning. It’s a special gift to get to see the sunrise from our dining room, at least when the clouds back off a little. We are frequently blown away; these images reflect His beauty.
God’s glory was on display also at a concert I attended with the kids. We went to see TobyMac, part of a Christmas gift. This was a major blast from my past and I was blown away by how fun it was to watch my kids worship and enjoy, just like I did at their age.
Last Friday, God’s glory was also on display, but instead of lights and fog machines we were looking at radiology images. Chris’s PET results and MRI results were 100% clear and showed no concerning signs to his medical teams. Blown away is an understatement, thank you Lord for this gift.
We needed to wait until Tuesday 3/3 at 8pm to hear about the next steps for Car-T therapy due to a virus Chris caught; that is part of our delay in writing this post and sharing our news.
Chris will go to Chicago on Wednesday, March 5th and he will be isolated at his parent’s home as our kiddos just bring home too many “gifts” (viruses) from school. He needs time to heal and prepare for chemotherapy before the Car-T infusion. I will join him on March 11th and Chris’s parents will come and stay with the kids with further support from my parents.
Lord willing, in preparation for CAR-T Chris will have three days of outpatient chemo (March 12-14), he will recover over the weekend, and then be admitted to Northwestern Hospital on March 17th for 1-2 weeks, with an expected infusion of Car-T on March 18th.
Prayers
-That the time Chris spends in isolation would be beneficial to help him heal from his current virus and protection from anything that would prevent Car-T from moving forward and being successful.
-For the kids and I as we experience such a long time without Chris in our home.
-For our eyes to remain open to the images of His goodness and care in our everydays.
-For continued prayers for good friends for our kids.
Colossians 1:9-13
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
We will faithfully pray for those dear children to find friends, at least 1 good friend each. That’s not altogether easy, is it?
BUT GOD
Dear Chris and Becca, Our response may not sound super spiritual but we ARE DANCIN IN OUR OFFICE CHAIRS with this Good News. Of course we are also singing: TO GOD BE THE GLORY, WHAT GREAT THINGS HE’S DONE! Karen and Steve

Such a glorious report for Chris in so many areas , yet concerns in many other aspects of his and each of your lives but God…has all you need, want, desire.
That’s what I’ll be praying as you listed the needs at the conclusion.
His mighty, complete, loving provision in each area and in each of you.
Eph. 3:20 “Unto Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think according to the power at work in, beside, above, beneath, around us”

Chris and Becca, I’m doing a happy dance rejoicing in this good news. If David can dance before the Lord as the Ark was returned to Jerusalem, I will gladly dance before the Lord (inside and out). I will continue to join all the saints who are praying for Chris and your whole family.
Praise our awesome God. May the wonders, miracles, gifts never cease. Such great news to hear about your PET scan. May you be in perfect peace and health in the Father’s hands experiencing and observing miraculous healing in your body during the Chemo and Car T treatments.
We are thanking God for these good steps forward!
Such good good gifts from the Father. Keep it up Lord!
Becca, was that second picture literally of the stars you saw out your window??!?
Brilliant!!! But no more so than Chris’s test results.🙌🏻
Praying that Chris will get the R & R he needs to vanquish the virus or whatever has him run down. How blessed your family is to have 2 sets of willing and able parents pinch hit in your absence! May their time with their grandchildren yield welcome opportunities for them to grow in their closeness to one another.
Hope you are taking care of you too, Becca!

Praying for your requests!
The Lord bless you all with peace and strength.
God gives indescribable gifts doesn’t He? Very thankful for the strong faith you all have and how you see Him in life’s little details. He is our Healer!
Had to chuckle at DC Talk memory. Decades ago your brother told me all about that group in your parents living room. Those guys met in college, the same one from which my daughter graduated last spring!
Thank you for the update. God is near to you!
Hi Matt

We are praying for you weekly Wednesday mornings at the Linguistics Department at Payap. We want to give God all the Glory for your faith and sharing your journey with us and His answer to your prayers.
May the Lord continue to bless and heal you, body, soul, and spirit. May He provide good, close friends for your kids. May you, as a family, continue to pursue Him and worship Him with reckless abandon! May He draw you near to Himself during this time, and may you feel His presence in a special way.
May He pour out His garment of praise during this time, in Jesus’ mighty name!
“To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;”
Isaiah 61:3a
