    3. Hi Chris- my name is Matt Koupal and it’s been my privilege to serve with your dad in BSF for many years. I respect him immensely and it’s clear you are following in his large footsteps.

This may sound weird but you’ve been granted a huge blessing through your illness. You will never again take for granted the ability to walk without pain, or ride a bike, or enjoy a paddle boarding ride. Ten years ago I was blessed with Guillain Barre syndrome, a neurological meltdown. After losing 25 pounds in a week and a half and living in excruciating pain that prevented me from climbing our stairs more than once a day, I felt I was dying. God had other plans. I recovered more or less and can walk stairs and ride my bike and golf and attend BFS and give your dad a hard time. I never do any of those things without appreciating God’s goodness and healing.
Once you think you’re dying life becomes all the sweeter- each day a gift. Enjoy your blessings in disguise brother.

  2. Isaiah 12:2
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

  7. Awesome Awesome is our God. Keep paddling and biking, resting and rejoicing. Maybe each cycle of treatment will be like one of your long bike rides in the mountains, some hard work along the way but you will be stronger in the end. It looks like I had a different lymphoma than yours. I went back and looked at some of my labs. My platelets dropped but it was mostly due to the chemo cycle. So proud of you Chris and Becca. Your testimony is great!
