Isaiah 40 repeats the same phrase twice
“Do you not know? Have you not heard?”
In a day and age when no one wants to be missing out on anything and our attention is being pulled in every direction the word of the Lord is also calling for our attention.
The chapter proclaims the Lord’s greatness like a bullhorn at the start of a significant event. His greatness is significant and worthy of announcement.
These forget-me-nots were also calling for my attention today, like God’s word proclaiming, “Don’t forget my greatness – it is all around you.”

This chapter is often titled as a comfort for God’s people. His greatness is our comfort.
His greatness is our joy in times of celebration when Chris’ platelets have risen to 260! Can we say “lift off?!”
His greatness is our comfort when we mourn some of the things that we are missing out on, like time with our family who are not close, and who we had planned to see this summer.
His greatness is our peace when some things have improved (Chris continues to have no pain) but others remain uncertain. Chris’ energy and strength is often up and down, better but unpredictable, something we are not used to.
His greatness is our strength as we continue to fill out school forms, wait for housing options for the fall.
His greatness is our hope as we trust the Lord to guide us; as we then guide our children through this unexpected season.
“Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.” Ps. 147:5
Praising Him for His greatness and continuing to pray for His mighty power to sustain, provide and strengthen you in this journey.
Praise God through whom all things flow.
He IS your help, guide and hope.
Thank You, Father, for the grace to live in courage today because we know the Great Conclusion is coming soon to bring us joy and peace. In Jesus’ name.
2 Timothy 1:7
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
I love this tool in God’s word, it helps me to be reminded that fear is not of God.
The platelet count is wonderful, praise God!
It might not be possible today, but if you can look closely into the face of one of those, forget me, not flowers, teeny tiny flowers, you’ll be amazed at the detail. That particular flower always points me to the glory of God. Why would he paint that tiny little flower to be so exquisite ? And then, if you get a chance listen to the link that I sent you and be reminded of who is our Lord of creativity, and the artist of our souls. Even as we pray, and trust him for Chris and you and your children, he is creating a brand new design with your faithfulness because of his perfect faithfulness. https://youtu.be/4vw9JF8PvVA
Our Lord never forgets. He sees us and calls us by name. The fact that the Creator of the universe sees me is astounding and praiseworthy.
The Psalmist says, “You are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God” -Psalm 86:10.
…and we also won’t forget to keep praying for your family.
He is “the God who sees” you (Gen 16:13).
Beautiful, Becca.
I like forget me nots. I wonder how they got that name. Thank you for encouraging us to remember his greatness
Nathan told me he is watching your videos, Chris, and being very encouraged. Your journey and how you’re trusting God reminds him to trust God when he has chronic pain. Thank you for sharing your journey, Chris and Becca.
Your words are always thought provoking and encouraging. I continue to pray for all of you, thankful with you that God does not forget you in each and every moment. Also, 260….that is a wonderful number!
His mercies are new every morning, great is HIs faithfulness!
For me it is always important to keep in mind what I know:
He is still God and in control. He loves me dearly (even if I can’t fathom why). He has ALL power. He is good.
Remembering this is enough for me and keeps me living in peace no matter what.
I love Hebrew.
Here is a beautiful song of Psalm 23:4a. ‘lo’, the word that gets repeated so often, means ‘no’, so the force of this song is a decision: No, nay, never, no way am I going to be afraid’. Take note of the place where this is sung.

I have sung and listened to this song many times during the early weeks of my own, ongoing battle with cancer.
Another beautiful song (Messianic) that I found recently is this one:

The actual lyrics of the second verse in the Hebrew are:
“Place ALL your love in me, place the heat of Your healing in me’.
That’s powerful, Didi. Lord place your healing Hands on Didi and Chris, and grant them Your Shalom. (A word that fascinates me. I don’t know much about it but I know it has a great richness of meaning.)
Blessings and hugs and continuing prayers!
