{"id":211,"date":"2023-09-20T21:41:56","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T01:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hirtfamily.net\/chris\/?p=211"},"modified":"2023-09-20T21:41:56","modified_gmt":"2023-09-21T01:41:56","slug":"6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hirtfamily.net\/chris\/2023\/09\/20\/6\/","title":{"rendered":"#6"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We crossed of chemo #6 for Chris on Monday.&nbsp; Phew, we are glad we reached that milestone and it is in the past.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the treatment we could see the accumulation of the whole chemo process on his body as he was more tired and feeling especially unlike himself.&nbsp; This continued even throughout the past two days.&nbsp; Thankfully, this evening, Wednesday, he was perking up again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They removed the vincristine for a second time, part of his chemo protocol. This drug is the main contributor to his neuropathy, and since he could not report a significant improvement in the neuropathy from chemo #5 to chemo #6 it was concluded it was best to continue to withhold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bloodwork continues to be excellent.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The current plan stands that for the next 2.5 weeks he will finish this cycle and continue to recuperate.&nbsp; It really does take time to \u201cclaw\u201d his way back again, as he likes to put it at times.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His PET scan is scheduled for Monday, October 16th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Review of the PET scan and future treatment discussions will be on Monday, October 23, just a day after Chris\u2019s 44th birthday!\u00a0 The doctor has indicated that the PET scan will be the only test he will need to determine prognosis and next steps.\u00a0 Phrases like \u201cremission likely\u201d and \u201ctesting every 3 months\u201d have been mentioned in our last three appointments.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We continue to give thanks to the Lord!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Join us in prayer for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-continued healing in Chris\u2019s body<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-clear direction from the medical team regarding next steps<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-clarity from the Lord regarding his path for us, both now and ahead<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-comfort for the kids as they persevere and to seize the day where they are<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below is a picture of Emalene &#8220;seizing&#8221; the day.
