*our kids waited for snow and when they got a big pile from a snow plow they worked hard on this snow cave.
We wait
We wait for test results
We wait for healing and restoration
We wait for insurance approvals
We wait for our dog to come to the US
We wait at appointments
We wait for the phone to ring and we wait on hold
Mary waited
Mary waited for her parents to choose a husband
She waited to see if she was actually pregnant like the angel said
She waited to see if Joesph would still accept her even though she was pregnant
She waited on her arduous journey to Bethlehem
She waited for a place to stay and rest
She waited for a baby, our Savior
Lord, you waited, you waited to be born. You waited for just the right time in history, for the right mother and father. You have waited over and over, surely you will help us in our waiting.
Though the waiting is so hard at times, we wait with you. Waiting with you can bring rest, waiting with you can bring perspective.
Help us all as we wait for Christmas, though ultimately we wait for your return.
Come, Lord Jesus, we wait for you.
Chris finished a long week of chemo on Dec 13th. One day outpatient and 4 days inpatient. Two intrathecal lumbar punctures (where liquid is taken out and chemo is put in the spinal fluid). Chris has been quite tired since December 12th, needing rest, sometimes 2 naps a day.
Plans are moving forward with insurance approval for CAR-T therapy at some point in the near future. Please pray for this insurance approval.
Next round of chemo is Dec 30th, Happy New Year chemo style.
Then, possible imaging to determine the effectiveness of two rounds of TEDDI-R
Eventually, decisions will be made if more chemo or radiation is used prior to CAR-T.
28 And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord [a]is with you.” 29 But she was very perplexed at this statement, and was pondering what kind of greeting this was. 30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.” 34 But Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I [b]am a virgin?” 35 The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; for that reason also the [c]holy Child will be called the Son of God. 36 And behold, even your relative Elizabeth herself has conceived a son in her old age, and [d]she who was called infertile is now in her sixth month. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 And Mary said, “Behold, the Lord’s bond-servant; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Luke 1:28-38 NASB
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones from our family!
Thanks for the update, Becca. So glad to hear the latest round of chemo is done. We’ll be praying for approval of the CAR-T treatment.
Btw, did you mean “imaging” instead of “imagining”?
Heading out on a run now and thinking of you guys! Miss seeing you all our and about in the neighborhood. Merry Christmas!
Waiting with you in prayer.
Isaiah 40: 28-31 “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

Blessed Christmas, Hirt Family, as you wait with hope. We pray for peace of heart in these uncertain days. We are grateful for you all and ask God to give you everything you need as you trust in Him. May the good Shepherd assure you of His presence.
Thanks for the update! As hard as it is to wait, we appreciate your steadfast faith and trust in the Lord. Praying the angel announcement, “Fear not, behold I bring you good news…” will be yours, as well.
Blessed Christmas to you all! We are praying with you.

Thoughts and prayers for positive insurance approval. Prayers for the next round of chemo on the 30th. Most of, prayers for healing.
Merry Christmas, Becca, Chris and kids.
Sending love and prayers this holiday season.
Dearest ones,
I have been thinking of this Scripture as it might apply to your situation, and as it applies to the many prayers going up for you all –
“We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” 2 Corinthians 1: 8-11
I’m attempting to gather more and more prayer support for you from believers we know through our ministry!
Love you more than you can know,
Aunt Shelley

1 “Do you know when the mountain goats give birth?
Do you observe the calving of the does?
2 Can you number the months that they fulfill,
and do you know the time when they give birth, (Job 39:1-2, ESV)
God knows all, and yet He numbers and counts the months… from His place outside of time!! He is in the waiting with us!!
Thanks for the update. Praying with and for you in the waiting. God bless you all. Merry Christmas! To us a Savior is born!
Praying for God’s Christmas gift of “Yes” for the insurance.
Waiting on God with you.
Waiting with you! May God fill everyday with His love, peace and presence!
When Doug first started working in translation with the Khamti people (northern Myanmar), he learned they had no word for HOPE. So, because compound words are common in that language, they created a word which means, “the way of waiting expectantly.” I LOVE that definition because, while it DOES involve waiting, it also involves “the way of.” Which means, we are on a road, a journey. And as we walk the journey, we HOPE!
And then the word, “expectantly.” Growing up, my mom had a sign hanging in our garage and the caption read, “Blessed are they who expect nothing, for they shall not be disappointed.” I never liked that saying. Something always bothered me about it. Now, years later, I know why. It’s because the presence of Jesus is not a factor in the equation. So, I’ve changed the saying for myself to this, “Blessed are they who expect JESUS to show up, for they shall not be disappointed.” Yup! That makes WAAAAAY more sense to me. But then, I have to be alert–to be PAYING ATTENTION to His presence. Otherwise, disappointment and despair can take over.
So, today, I’m praying for HOPE for you and your family this Christmas season. And may you see the presence of Jesus as you walk your journey. Much love and prayer, Connie
We are praying and waiting with you! Thank you for the updates.
Becca, I don’t have to tell you that waiting is hard. Your kids know on a variety of “kid-levels”, waiting is hard. It takes each of us a while to figure out what is truly hard to wait for. The world we live in wants such instant gratification; that false ‘fastness!’ makes patience so hard. Throw the reality of insurance approvals and the subject becomes very nearly intolerable.
Becca, Chris, we all wait for the Unshakeable Kingdom of God to come in the perfection of holiness. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Romans 8:20-22;26. I offer to you our promises of prayer daily. We have no wisdom, truly we don’t. We do have God’s Words to us. We have the Savior Jesus Christ. We are saved, we are loved; living each day brings us closer one day at a time, to the time we all long for. We love you. XO
Praying for you to have a joyous time with family as you wait for Christmas and what comes after.
Thank you for this posting. We are singing a song called “Waiting” tonight at our Christmas Eve service. It will have even more meaning after I read this posting.
May your family have a meaningful Christmas celebration — and the same goes for everyone checking in on these important updates/messages.
Daily prayers for God’s mighty hand to show His deliverance in your situation!
